Scrap Again - July

July's designer kit was fantastic! It was filled with festive red white and blue with just a touch of vintage fun. Go here to see exactly what I am talking about.
The first layout I did used the shipping tag and some of the fun coin rolls that were included. They just add a bright little accent to the page which I thought was fun. The background cardstock was also included in the kit. I love that the boarder was pre-stitched onto the paper.
The second layout I did incorporated some of the red paper which i totally love! I had a tough time because at the time I was creating this layout, I had no "4th of July" photos to use because I already took care of them last year. (I made a fun "staycation" book about our activities over the 4th of July weekend. Click here to see a sneak.) So instead of creating a themed page with the holiday, I just used some pictures of when Wesley was born. The journaling on this page was one of those happy accidents. I messed up writing the word boy, so I decided to cover it with the rounded word strip, and repeated the idea a few times.
The journaling on this page was one of those happy accidents. I messed up writing the word boy, so I decided to cover it with the rounded word strip, and repeated the concept a few times to make it all flow. This is a prime example of how I tend to try to make things work. I am by no means a perfectionist! I try to just roll with the mistakes I make. Doing so saves me time and supplies.
I'd love to share the completed book I made last year about our 4th of July activities, so sometime this month I'll be sure to do that.
