May's House of Art kit is awesome! I had so much fun creating with it. The kit was full of bright colors mixed with vintage pieces. The kit also has a fun box from Melissa Frances that we had to do something with. I have lots to say on the box, so keep reading...
I did 3 layouts using as much as I could from the kit. I think I did a pretty good job sticking to the product included. Ariana (the owner of HoA) did a great job picking and choosing papers and embellishments which made it so I didn't have to supplement with my own supplies.
The pictures on the first layout were taken while we were in Moab at the beginning of April. I just love this little girl. She is growing up so beautifully and I am loving every second of watching this happen. The kit had some really neat vintage calendar pages that I used on three of my projects. (In the photo above you can see that I used an April one. Love it.)
This layout includes photos of my sweet Wesley and his cousin. These boys are only 3 months apart and it is so fun to have them so close in age. A big plus with coming from a big family is that there are lots of cousins and there's almost always cousins within a year of another.
I loved the bottlecap that came in the kit and wasn't sure at first how I would put it to use. I decided to just use it in a cluster of accents on the Best Pals page. It was tricky to get adhered to the page, but I got it down with a popup glue dot. The tea-dyed tag was also another favorite from the kit. (I think I used one on almost every layout!) The bingo card also came in the kit and was fun to work with. The Suds and Bubbles layout uses photos of Liliane on our front porch blowing bubbles. The was a small assortment of these wood letters and thankfully I was able to spell part of my title with them. The music paper was fun to include bits of on this layout, too.
The big yellow flower on the Suds layout is a Sassafrass product. It comes on a 12x12 sheet of punch-out embellishments.
And last is my altered item. As I mentioned before, the kit came with this box. All of the designers were to use the box as their altered item this month. I decided to turn it into a home for 25 embellished shipping tags that each give a little detail about me. (25 Details is what I called it, as you can see in the photo.)I've still got more tags to decorate, but these give you an idea of what I mean by embellishing little details about me. I used more music paper to line the inside bottom of the box.
So there you have it, a full overview of all my creations using House of Art's May kit. If you decide to get a kit for yourself, you won't go wrong. I had a blast with everything inside.
LOVE all your projects!! your box is especially cute...i love what you did with it...that's such a neat idea and i bet it's something that your kids will love someday....getting to learn all the little details about their mom!
