Pioneer Day

It's so nice to have the day off and have fun without having to worry about work. Jordan and I both had the 24th off so we decided we'd  start off our pioneer day with a nice little fishing trip Jordan loves to fish and will go whenever he gets the chance. Normally when he goes I stick around home and catch up on cleaning or run errands and things like that. This trip was the first time I went with and I can tell you it wont be the last. I had a lot more fun than I thought I would. Who knew casting a hook into water and reeling it in could be so entertaining?

I didn't catch any fish, but the experience alone was rewarding enough for me.  We woke up at 5:20 a.m. and headed down to Maple Lake up Payson canyon. Jordan did a great job in showing off his skills: On his first cast of the day, as he was showing me how to cast the line into the water, he catches a fish! I couldn't believe it! Of course he went on to catch one more before we were through. I caught a whole lot of seaweed which was somewhat disappointing because it felt like I was reeling in a fish. I had fun though and really look forward to going again. Maybe next time I really will catch one.

  1. I'm glad you like fishing! Poor Teejay...I hate it. I've gone like a million-billion in my life, and like you, only caught seaweed stuff (I call them "gookies"). That top picture is awesome!

  2. Glad to hear you finally experienced fishing...well kind of;) When you do catch a fish, nothing quite compares to that feeling.

I used to fish a lot but then I ran out of time and the licenses got expensive...so I haven't been in a few years, but I remember how fun it was!
